| | The first time I rode Toren I hit the curb and got stuck while trying to do a tight u-turn.
It is unbelievable how tough it is to buy a decent second-hand couch with a price my Dad approves of, a cleanliness factor Mom approves of, and a color I like.
Editing is not much fun.
Now if you think from the last three sentences that I disapprove of my life at the moment, think again. I am very very exceedingly amazingly glad to be here in Canon City. I mean, Toren is so cool, and I have a house to put a couch in, and I have a book to edit. What more could I ask for?
But you know what they say, behind the open door is an uneven floor.
They don't actually say that. I made that quote up when I walked into my castle last January, and the floors were uneven, which bothered me greatly for some reason. It was like a bad dream or something.
Anyway then I thought, "behind the open door is an uneven floor," which seemed not only to describe my house, but also the fact that Canon City was totally an open door, but going through it would involve, you know, ups and downs.
It seemed witty. And it rhymed. So I tried to work it into a song but it didn't go real well.
The point of all this is, today I had a meeting with some of the directors of New Horizons, and it was all, "oh, and maybe you could help out here, and we could use you there if you are up for it." It was amazing. Beyond amazing. Like I actually have a purpose and a use again.
I am so tired and happy right now.
